Amber Chair by Jaeuk Jung

This amazing design takes a classic No. 14 chair and sets it in an amber coloured resin. This shows great contrast, using a classical chair and a modern fosillising technique. Not only has the chair been set in the resin, the process has also created many bubbles around the frame, giving it a whole new character. I think its very clever that the exterior of this seat is completely geometric, yet you can see many curves within. It is a very nice thought that the antique chair within, designed by Michael Thornet in 1860, will be preserved for years to come and the resin will guard it from any future wear and tear.
