Relumine by Mischer’Traxler

blue

The main purpose of this project was to save energy. It reuses two existing lamps and joins them together with one tube light; between them they now use less energy than each one previously did. By reusing old lamps you keep the classic form and with some time and effort you can apply a brand new finish.

''Instead of completely designing a newly shaped lamp, 'Relumine' plays on the fact that we all have to switch from old light bulbs to new energy saving light sources. Each 'Relumine' uses two, discarded lamps, which are disassembled, sanded, newly lacquered and adapted with newer technology, before they are connected by a glass tube which holds a fluorescent tube.''
